Cormac Ryan

Chief Experience Officer & Consultant

Growing up in San Diego, I competed in football, basketball, and swimming. Each sport pushed me in different ways, but swimming ultimately became the path where I found the most growth and purpose. Committing fully to the pool was not an easy decision, but it taught me how to trust the process, remain patient, and stay disciplined. Those same principles continue to guide how I support athletes at Lane Line Recruiting.

My Journey

My own recruiting experience did not follow the traditional trajectory. I was not highly ranked early in high school and did not receive widespread attention from college coaches. The recruiting process felt uncertain at times, but I stayed committed. I sent emails, followed up with programs, and kept conversations going even when I was told there were no available spots. In the end, that persistence paid off. I earned a spot on the New York University Men’s Swimming & Diving Team, where I now compete as a breaststroker at the NCAA Division III level.

My journey reinforced an important truth: getting recruited is about more than early rankings or flashy times. It is about staying consistent, doing the work, and believing in long-term progress.

Why I Joined Lane Line Recruiting

As the Chief Experience Officer and Consultant, I work directly with student-athletes and their families to help them understand the recruiting landscape and make informed, strategic decisions. I am here to help athletes craft strong outreach, navigate timelines, and find programs that align with their academic and athletic goals. My focus is not just on where an athlete can swim, but where they can thrive as a student, teammate, and person.
