Mountain West Conference

The Mountain West Conference sponsors women’s swimming and diving only, with no men's programs currently competing under the conference umbrella. Member schools such as San Diego State, UNLV (women only), and Colorado State consistently field strong women’s teams that perform well at the conference level and send athletes to the NCAA Championships.

While the Mountain West does not offer men’s swimming, the women’s programs benefit from intense coaching, excellent facilities, and a tradition of competitive success, particularly in sprint events and relays. Several Mountain West schools also compete in other conferences for men's swimming or have discontinued their men’s programs altogether.

For female student-athletes seeking a competitive Division I swim environment in the western United States, the Mountain West offers high-level training, a well-run championship meet, and strong academic-athletic balance across its member institutions.
